I read somewhere recently that times have changed and being 60 shouldn´t label us as senior citizens, nor as over-the-hill. Because of fitness and diet consciousness having been raised over the last decades, people are more fit and physically active. The book proposes calling it the Second Middle Age. Interesting. I feel like that...still young in spirit and still in good health. I´m happy and thankful to have come this far in life´s journey, I don´t feel like the stereotyped senior citizen, not a bit.
There are so many witty catch-phrases circulating on the internet these days about getting old, but I´m not going to coin any. I just want to say that as I enjoy my last few days of being in my 50s, no panic has set in about beginning my 60s. Life is good and I don´t anticipate it being otherwise, ever! I hope I will be as positive about life and its blessings as my father when I reach his age - almost 93!
